Nine radios support local communities

Nine Radio Stations today launched community support programs in each market to help vital local organizations and charities raise awareness and funds.

Under the local brand of 2GB media, 3AW media, 4BC media and 6PR media, the program will be guaranteed by $1.6 million in airtime and production each year.

Nine Radio’s Managing Director, Tom Malone, says this is a significant and important commitment from the company: “Nine is the only commercial broadcaster to produce live, local content at times keys in all markets. This puts us at the heart of the cities we serve.

“We want to support these communities even more with dedicated and targeted marketing across our talk stations, digital platforms and social channels to give voice to the important work of so many wonderful and unsung community and charitable organizations.”

Each month, 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR will champion a different charity in their respective markets, spreading the word of these vital community groups while helping to raise much-needed funds to support their efforts.

Malone added: “Two million Australians tune into our radio stations every week. Our team of broadcasters know it’s a huge privilege to speak directly with so many of our listeners and champion their causes. This program will deepen our relationship with our listeners and the communities we serve.
