Inner Banks Media Radio Stations Win State Broadcasting Awards

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) — Two radio stations owned by Inner Banks Media and based in Greenville received statewide honors on Wednesday.

According to Inner Banks Media, 103.7 WTIB was named North Carolina Radio Station of the Year and the morning crew of Marc Miller and Laura Smith were named Personalities of the Year at the annual awards banquet. from the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters on Wednesday, September 28.

Miller and Smith’s show, The Morning Rush, is heard weekday mornings on 107.9 WNCT from 6-9am. “What an honor,” Miller said. “Getting this award once is exciting, but three times is amazing. Thank you to our listeners who respond to us daily and keep us going.”

WITN learns that the event was held in Raleigh at the Angus Barn pavilions, where videos produced from some of WTIB’s special events from last year were shown, highlighting the station’s fundraising efforts with East Carolina charities like Maynard Children’s Hospital, Operation Santa Claus and Crime Stoppers.

“This is an incredible award and tribute to our group of hard-working colleagues and loyal listeners who are doing great things in Eastern North Carolina communities every week,” said said Inner Banks Media Chairman Henry Hinton.

NCAB Executive Director Lisa Reynolds says Inner Banks Media is a wonderful example of a radio station company “doing things the right way by serving their communities.”
