Doncaster is preparing for a wider choice of radio stations with the launch of a new project

Higher Rhythm, a Doncaster-based music and media service provider, is behind the ambitious plan to widen the choice of radio listeners who tune in to digital radio in the city

The plan was launched in response to a call for proposals – by communications regulator Ofcom – to establish a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) service for Doncaster.

Higher Rhythm is a social enterprise created in 2001.

Higher Rhythm plans to expand the number of radio stations in Doncaster.

It runs Doncaster’s licensed community radio station, Sine FM, as well as two recording studios, a record company, event promotion, artist development programs, training courses and career opportunities. volunteering.

Higher Rhythm Managing Director Steve Mundin said: “The DAB service for Doncaster will provide a great opportunity to increase the choice of digital radio channels available. We are now inviting digital radio service providers to join us in developing the new platform.
